Sunny walk in the city between two snow storms
We had a lovely warm week-end a few days ago and everyone was out and about enjoying the weather.

Snow Storm and Santa Con
Hundreds of Santas braved the cold and snow on Saturday for Santa Con in NYC.
Here are a few of them, in the East Village.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of coming across a delightful bakery nestled in the heart of the bustling streets of the lower east side. If you are up for a little walk and a quick bite to eat, this is definitely the place to go! The item that stood out the most to me was the warm autumn inspired vegetarian burger topped with pumpkin seeds. It comes complete with cilantro, and avocado to give this dish a balance of lightness to go along with the heavy and rich flavors. The flat beard that surrounds it is the finishing touch on this winner, encasing all these delicate flavors into a melody that dances on your taste buds. Oh so tasty!

My favorite pastry is the vegan and gluten free coconut cookie. It has a flaky and crumbly texture that compliments the sweet and nutty flavor. Even a person who isn’t a fan of coconut, much like myself, will be diving for seconds of this delectable cookie.

US OPEN: TENNIS

US OPEN: TENNIS
Come see what all the excitement about this Tennis season at the US Open.

Serena Williams, and Victoria Azarenka made it to the US Open Final. Azeranka, and Williams were expected to get to the Final. Both had more wins then losses in each match they faced.

Get your tickets here

Come see the match this Friday in the comfort of your apartment or through an adventure to Queens. It is about an hour train ride away, but you can make the ride worth your while by heading to local restaurants, and neighborhoods in the area. A personal favorite is La Flor Restaurant in Woodside. It's a Mexican fusion restaurant that is cozy, and perfect for a casual day out. However, I encourage to go out and explore. Queens is known to be the most diverse boroughs!

Check out the New York Observer's interesting article on the preservation of the Bowery here.

Il Buco Alimentario e Vineria

Il Buco Alimentario e Vineria

One of our favorite restaurants in the neighborhood is Il Buco Alimentario e Vineria. Located at 53 Great Jones Street, it's just a stones throw from East Village Apartments. Offering up Italian tapas and fantastic mussels with great ambience and service, it's truly worth a visit during your stay.

Martin Scorsese is the one of the latest to advocate for the preservation of Bowery Street.   Due to the street's rich history, it was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places.  You can learn more about the Bowery's many lives here and visit the historic street when you visit East Village Apartments as it is just around the corner.

Make the best of your New York Trip (Part 2)

Make the best of your New York Trip (Part 2)

I am pleased to bring you the third in the series of articles that celebrates the never-ending beauty, charm and charisma of this world-famous city, a city that represents the dream of millions of individuals from around the world who visit NY to study, to explore or to make a living.
Madame Tussauds Wax Museum New York: While you will find Madame Tussauds in many cities of the world, it is truly worth paying a visit to this museum while you are in NY. By paying a reasonable entry fee, you can see nearly 200 incredibly lifelike wax figures of the most well-known celebrities of the world including your most-loved Hollywood actors.
Museum of Modern Art: The Museum of Modern Art in New York is considered to be the most influential museum of modern art in the world. It caters to an entire spectrum of human ingenuity ranging from works of architecture and design, drawings, painting and sculpture to photography, prints, illustrated books and artist's books, film, and electronic media. The museum contains millions of books and original source material relating to the history of modern and contemporary art. The Museum of Modern Art also houses a restaurant where you can relax at the end of your intellectual tour.
Cathedral of Saint John the Divine: In a city that has virtually re-built itself on an ultra-modern framework, there are fortunately some remaining symbols of history. The Cathedral of Saint John the Divine was built in late nineteenth century and has undergone a series of repairs and restorations since then. It is among the most well-known tourist places in the city of New York.
Apart from the magnificent places to see, there is another way that you can make your visit to New York special. The city offers a remarkable array of staying options ranging from hotels and inns to timeshare and vacation rentalproperties. With a bit of smart research, you can find a swanky vacation rental property right in the heart of the city that will make your visit even more enjoyable.
